Transit of Venus across the Sun

The June 5, 2012 transit of Venus. Clouds covered the event but the sun peaked through the clouds occasionally.

Canon 1D Mark IV 16 megapixel digital camera, 500 mm f/4 L IS lens + 2x + 1.4x stacked TCs, giving 1400 mm at f/11.2. Exposure at ISO 400, 1/400 second, through an Orion reflective solar filter and thin clouds.
